Robert Potter started Affordable Concepts, Inc., a general contracting company specializing in commercial design-build and tenant improvements, with his father, Sammie E. Potter, in 1985. As president and chief executive, Potter piloted the company to Contractor of the Year honors in 2002 from The Southern Nevada chapter of Associated General Contractors. In 2003, Potter was chairman of the board of the local chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors and now serves on the trade group’s Government Affairs Committee. In addition, he is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, and the National Association of Realtors. Potter is also on the board of the local chapter of Associated General Contractors as well as the Governmental Affairs committee of the national chapter. He is active in the Las Vegas Rotary club and the Henderson, Las Vegas and North Las Vegas chambers of commerce. He is also an advisory board member of the Salvation Army’s North Las Vegas chapter. In 2002, Potter earned a law degree from the Boyd School of Law at UNLV.
